Avoid paying the full price for the Explorer Pass by subscribing to the newsletter here. Often the Explorer Pass will send a promotional code through email if you subscribe to the New York Explorer newsletter. The Explorer Pass regularly sends information on offers and discounts on standard prices. You’ll most likely already be able to take advantage of a discount as on the Explorer Pass website as there are often sales going on. However, when there is no promotion on the website; it’s worthwhile to use a discount code which you have a chance of receiving by subscribing to the newsletter.
You can use the coupon code by entering it on the review page of your order. Underneath the total price and summary, click on “Have a promo code?”. A drop down field will appear where you can enter your discount code. Click on “apply” and the code will be applied to the pass(es) that are in your basket. It’s good to be aware that the entered code will void any other discount applied by the website. It’s possible to get less discount with a coupon code than with a sale that’s already offered on the site. In this case, it’s not worthwhile to use a discount code.

It’s good to know that there’s a price increase at least once a year; it’s always announced on the New York Explorer Pass website. If you want to save money, make sure you buy before the prices go up.
The New York Explorer Pass is offered with discounts on other sites, like Costo or Groupon. However, you’ll have to go through additional steps to activate the pass if you purchase it from these sites. Overall, they aren’t usually the best deals and the terms of use are often slightly different.
